Paper Plates and Motion?
In our study of motion, we looked at the movements of sliding, spinning, and rolling.
We had fun creating a pinwheel to represent spinning in the wind, a wagon with pasta wheels to represent rolling, and then we used a paper plate to represent sliding across the room as if we were skating.
The question we were testing was: How can you get the paper plate from one side of the room to the other side of the room?
At first, so tried rolling. Other tried spinning. But, sliding was the most effective way to the get the plate around the room.
